Join Shedd Aquarium for a Great Lakes Action Day to make a positive difference for birds, amphibians, and other wildlife by restoring local habitats. We use hand tools to cut and burn invasive brush to make room for native flora and fauna. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Facemask and physical distance are required.

What should I wear to and bring for a habitat restoration workday?
* Grubby clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting muddy
* Closed-toe shoes are a must. Some volunteers like to wear rubber boots, especially after a rain.
* Dress in layers, especially for winter workdays. You'll probably work up a sweat.
* Bring a water bottle.

If you would like to volunteer, sign up on FPCC's website or by emailing actiondays@sheddaquarium.org. Group sizes are limited, so pre-registration is required.

You can park on the gravel shoulders along Forestway Drive
E-mail us if you have any specific questions about workday conditions.

Volunteer workdays also happen the 1st Saturdays of every month from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm!
