I'm So Blue - Basic Bird ID

After you register, you will receive a confirmation email containing the information to join the meeting.

No reason to be blue. Birds are everywhere! Now that we've been enjoying yard and neighborhood birds more and more, you might like some tips on basic identification skills.

Color makes birds especially enjoyable, but is only one of many – and not always the most reliable – clue to naming. This Bird Feed will introduce basic birding tips, and with a touch of philosophy and humor talk a bit about the reasons we watch birds, their value to us and what they mean in our environment.

John Elliott has been leading bird walks for CAS and the Cook County Forest Preserves for many years. Eager to share some of what he's learned, with a sampling of mistakes and just a few jokes, he hopes that more people will not just learn about birds but become ambassadors for birds and our wild and human environments.
