Tell Congress: Don't Let the Interior Department Gut the Migratory Bird Treaty Act

The current administration continues its course to weaken environmental protections, including its plan to go forward with the contested proposal to strip protections for migratory birds from harms caused by industrial activities, dramatically undercutting the law’s ability to conserve birds (the Migratory Bird Treat Act -- MBTA).

In the just-released draft Environmental Impact Statement, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service completely failed to address how devastating the rollback of the MBTA will be for birds, especially when recent studies have shown that we've lost 3 billion birds since 1970, and that two-thirds of our birds are threatened by climate change.

It appears that the current administration is willing to let industry self-regulate, leaving the fate of more than 1,000 bird species in the hands of the oil and gas industry, and other industries that harm birds on a daily basis.

Take action by July 20 by asking your U.S. Representative to reverse the rollback of the MBTA by supporting the Migratory Bird Protection Act
