Wooded Island Bird Walk

Hello to All,

Because I wore my rain pants over my jeans this morning, it did not rain. But it was cold and windy and we were all thinking of brunch and a hot cup of coffee as we neared the end of our walk.

The clearly identified Golden-crowned Kinglets were a delight to see. Other birds listed in italics were special for us today, but most have been reported earlier this year.

We drove over to the 63rd Street Beach in the hopes of finding some waterfowl seeking shelter in the bend of the pier.  But the wave action was fierce and no birds were found. The fishermen were out along the channel to the Outer Harbor.

Weekly, every Saturday, weather permitting.

Many species are seen.

Bring binoculars, field guides, and dress for the weather.

Meet at the parking lot south of the Museum of Science & Industry (MSI), which is accessible via Science Drive, the intersection just south of 57th Drive/MSI.

You do not need to be a member of Chicago Audubon to participate.

For details and directions, contact Pat Durkin at pat.durkin@comcast.net.

Everyone is welcome!
