THE CAS ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS BANQUET

SAVE THE DATE – THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2009

On Thursday, November 5, Chicago Audubon will hold its Biennial Environmental Awards Banquet at the Silver Stallion Restaurant, 1275 Lee/Mannheim Avenues in Des Plaines (between Algonquin and Oakton) to honor those who have made contributions to conservation and birding in the Chicagoland area. The Chicago Audubon Board of Directors chooses final Award recipients. For a list of past recipients click here.

A thank you goes out to those who took the time to make a nomination for Chicago Audubon’s Biennial Environmental Awards.

The main speaker for the evening will be Dave Willard of the Field Museum, Bird Division. Dave will speak on the Museum’s research for the past 3 decades on birds colliding against the windows at McCormick Place on Chicago’s lakefront. This data has been used to help alter McCormick Place windows to alleviate the problem. The Field Museum has also worked closely with the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors. Dave will discuss a number of aspects of these studies and programs.

The Awards Dinner will be held at the Silver Stallion Restaurant, 1275 Lee Street/Mannheim Street in Des Plaines (between Algonquin and Oakton - CLICK HERE TO SEE MAP). Dinner choices are chicken, salmon, or vegetarian. The cost is $30 per person.
