Chicago Audubon Society is Accepting Nominations for Candidates to Join The Board of Directors

Do you want to become more involved in helping shape environmental policy in Chicago? Do you have some great ideas for educational programs related to birding in Chicago? Are you a new birder who wants to learn more about Chicago’s rich birding culture and hot spots? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you should consider serving on the Chicago Audubon Society’s board of directors.

CAS is now accepting nominations for candidates to join its board of directors. Nominate yourself or someone you know! We welcome you to sit in on one of our board meetings, which are held every third Thursday of the month from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the CAS office at North Park Village Nature Center in the Administration Building at 5801-C N. Pulaski.

By joining the board, you will be participating in an organization whose roots go back to 1971, when CAS was founded. As a member of the board, you’ll have an opportunity to participate in numerous aspects of the organization, including developing educational programs, stewardship of local lands, research and monitoring for birds and other species, and leading field trips. You can also get involved in recruiting new members, media relations, writing for the Compass, participating in conservation efforts, or come up with your own ideas for helping the organization adhere to its mission statement to “promote the understanding and appreciation of nature, and to aid in the conservation and restoration of our natural ecosystems for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biodiversity.”
