Join environmentalists, healers, and justice activists

for bird watching and a bike tour through North Lawndale and Little Village.

Build Black and Brown solidarity with Environmentalist of Color, Equiticity, Organic Oneness and partners on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 9am to 12pm. The day will begin at 9am with an opportunity to heal in nature and build solidarity with themes of migration and liberation via birding activities (binoculars and field guides will be available for use), followed by a short orientation with tour beginning at 10am. Participants will go on a bike tour through Little Village and North Lawndale to learn about key sites that demonstrate a path towards healing and justice.

The day will begin in Douglass Park at 9am for a short orientation with tour beginning at 10am. Throughout the eight mile journey, riders will visit the African Heritage Garden in North Lawndale which highlights plants that originated on the African continent and pay homage to this with a garden bed shaped like the African continent. Riders will also visit Semillas de Justicia garden (Seeds of Justice) and the Hilco sites to learn about Little Village Environmental Organization's (LVEJO) journey to bring about food and environmental justice to the community.

*COVID-19 Information: Masks and social distancing are expected at this walking tour for the comfort and safety of all. Those who are feeling ill or have any COVID symptoms should please stay home. We will have extra masks and limited hand sanitizer on-site at the start of the tour. We are stronger together, even when safely socially distancing apart.

Organic Oneness is a grassroots, social justice organization that co-creates with communities to mobilize systemic change, healing, and wellness, foregrounding Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
